Focaccia with sardines

Фокача з сардинами

2.5 hours

8 servings

Focaccia is an Italian bread made from the same dough as the pizza base. Focaccia can be round, rectangular, thick or thin – it all depends on the preferences of the person who cooks.

The filling on the surface of the focaccia can also be added according to your preferences. Or you can cook it without filling.

Sardines, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, cheese, garlic, onions, and dried herbs – choose focaccia for any taste.

I am a practicing confectioner and I will teach you how to make delicious and exquisite confections at home.

Method of cooking

Pour warm water into a large bowl, add yeast and stir well.

Add flour, salt and oil to the water with the yeast.

Knead a soft dough. If you make the dough in a planetary mixer, you can use the hook attachment.

Put the dough in a bowl greased with olive oil, cover it with food film and a towel. Put it then in a warm place for 1 hour.

Line a large baking sheet 30/25 with baking parchment. Spread the dough and flatten it with your hands. Grease the dough generously with olive oil. Cover it with a towel and leave it for 30 minutes.

Use your fingers to make holes on the surface of the dough, but without reaching the bottom.

Add the filling and sprinkle with oil.

Bake the focaccia at 180°C  for up to 30 minutes.

Serve hot.
