Do you want to get a delicious strudel? Make it on puff pastry.

Puff dough for strudel is made of vegetable oil with or without eggs. I advise you to do it without an egg. In such a way it will stretch better.


Start rolling with a rolling pin, then take it in your hands and rotate it in the air. The dough should be transparent. Do not be afraid to tear the dough and thus deny yourself the pleasure of making strudel. 


All the imperfections will be inside when you wrap the filling.

Method of cooking

Put all the ingredients for the dough in the bowl of a planetary mixer. Knead the elastic dough with the “hook” attachment for about 7-8 minutes. If you knead with your hands, it will take you about 10-12 minutes.

Wrap the dough in cling film and leave it in the refrigerator for one hour.

Prepare a kitchen towel, put a sheet of wide baking paper on the towel, and dust the baking paper with flour.

Line the baking tray with baking paper.

Prepare the filling. Wash and peel apples, and remove seeds. Cut into thin slices. Pour lemon juice.

Heat the oven to 200 degrees.

Divide the dough into two parts. Start rolling on the parchment paper with a rolling pin, then stretch with your hands until the dough is transparent. The size of the finished dough is approximately 45×35 cm.

Melt 50 g of butter.

Dust the dough with cookie crumbs or breadcrumbs. Add sugar to the apples and stir. Put half of the apples on one side of the dough.

With the help of baking paper, start rolling the strudel. After each time brush with melted butter.

Wrap the edges, carefully transfer them to a baking tray with the baking paper, and grease with butter.

Make the second strudel in the same way. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Cool, dust with powdered sugar.
