Babkas, or casseroles, were very popular in Ukrainian cuisine. They were made not only of rice but also semolina, cheese, and pasta.

Since childhood, I remember the rice babka my grandmother used to cook in a pot on the wood stove. We traditionally ate such babka for supper.

 

You can bake the babka in a baking dish, cut it into squares and serve it even for breakfast.

Add honey, berries, and sour cream, and enjoy the taste.

Method of cooking

Mix rice and milk and cook the porridge. Boil for 15 minutes.

Soak the raisins in water beforehand.

Grind eggs with sugar. Add vanilla and cream.

Mix porridge, egg mixture, and butter, and add raisins.

Grease baking forms or portion pots with butter, and pour the mixture into them, better to the very top. Cover the forms.

Bake for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees.

The recipe fits three serving pots.
