The summer of 2021 was great. Vadim and I decided to hold Live broadcasts on my Instagram page every Friday. Burgers were the first dish we made and we did not make a mistake with the choice. My followers cooked at home with their children and we received a lot of feedback. 

 

The name for the burgers was invented by my subscriber Iryna from Okhtyrka, for which we are very grateful to her.

Some elements for burgers are best made the day before cooking. For example, bake buns or buy pre-made ones.

Caramelized Purple Onions

Pour olive oil, butter, onion cut into half rings, salt, pepper on a heated pan.

Caramelize on medium heat until the onion becomes a beautiful caramel color. It is tasty, aromatic and perfect for burgers. 

Store in the refrigerator until you need to use it.

Burger patties

Ingredients
Preparation

It is better to take 50/50 ground meat for burgers, pork/beef. One burger contains about 80 grams of ground meat.

Add salt and pepper to the ground meat, beat well so that the ground meat becomes smooth.

Form a patty in the patty maker, slightly larger than the diameter of the bun. The patty will shrink during frying.

When the patty is fried, put a square of cheddar cheese on top. Cover with a lid and leave for 5 minutes until it melts and covers the patty. 

Assemble the burger

Cut the buns in half, spread a bit of butter on each half of the bun and place on a heated pan.

Smear the lower part of the bun with mayonnaise, put the meat patty with cheese, caramelized onion, salad, a piece of fresh tomato and cover with the another part of the bun smeared with mayonnaise.
