In classical cinnabon recipe you can always find cinnamos, sugar, and butter. And the filling is made on basis of cream cheese.
I changed a recipe to get orange taste – added orange zest to the filling and substituted cream cheese to orange curd.
Promise that you’ll bake cinnabons following this recipe. You’ll get an extremely soft, fragrant, moderately sweet buns with a variety of flavor range. Orange, nutmeg, chocolate, butter – all these ingredients are masterfully combined in Cinnabon buns.
Ingredients
- 200 gr milk
- 50 gr sugar
- 11 gr dry yeast
- 2 eggs
- 80 gr sugar
- 70 gr butter
- 500 gr all-purpose flour

Method of cooking
- 150 gr brown sugar (you can also take white one)
- Zest of two oranges
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg
- Just mix well all ingredients.
- 4 egg yolks
- 70 gr butter
- 100 gr sugar
- Juice and zest of two oranges
Method of cooking
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan with a thick bottom. Cook, stirring constantly with a whisk for 2-3 minutes after the mass starts boiling. Strain the mass, pour it into a container and cover in contact with food film.
Roll out the dough into a 70×30 cm rectangle. Grease it with melted butter, then sprinkle with filling.
Wrap the dough in a tight roll. Cut it in 10-12 pieces and place the buns on a baking sheet, at a distance of about 3-4 cm from each other. Cover with a towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 180°C.
Pour orange curd and chocolate sauce on top of hot buns.

- 30 gr butter
Melt the chocolate and butter together, mix well, then pour the sauce on the buns.
