American apple pie
The American Apple Pie is a fast to cook wonderful dessert.
Perfectly baked shortbread combined with a juicy and fragrant apple filling. It also has a remote note of cinnamon and lemon. This pie is moderately sweet. It is usually cooked at weekends and associates with home, and family coziness. You can add a scoop of ice-cream or vanilla custard cream to diversify this classic dessert.

Method of cooking
Mix flour with sugar and salt.
Rub the butter into the flour (the butter has to be very cold). Make crumbs with your hands.
Gradually pour ice water and knead an elastic dough.
Wrap the dough in food film and put in the fridge for two hours.
Wash the apples, remove the cores and cut them (apples) into slices.
Add lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, flour and starch to the apples. Mix everything well.
There should be a lot of apples in the mold, as they will shrink while baked.
Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out the larger one and put it in a mold 22-24 cm in diameter. Cover the mold with baking parchment previously.
Put the filling on the dough.
Roll out a smaller part of the dough and cut it into strips. Decorate the pie with dough strips.
Grease the pie with a mixture for a ruddy crust. Mix an egg yolk with 20 gr of milk. Shake with sugar.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 180°C. Cool well the pie in the mold.
